Battlefield 3 Specs – known facts (so far)

PC Gamers the world over had a collective erection when the Battlefield 3 trailer first hit . Having fragged their way through the Bad Company series and 1943, Battlefield 3 was quickly becoming vapourware, more so than a bonafide up-coming episode in DICE’s long-running series.

Now, more details are emerging as a hungry public presses in for more details. Console players may wish to take deep breaths at this point, due to system limitations you’ll be restricted to 24 players while PC players enjoy the full 64 player experience.

Here’s the official spin…

Battlefield 3 leaps ahead of the competition with the power of Frostbite™ 2, the next instalment of DICE’s cutting-edge game engine. This state-of-the-art technology is the foundation on which Battlefield 3 is built, delivering superior visual quality, a grand sense of scale, massive destruction, dynamic audio and incredibly lifelike character animations. As bullets whiz by, walls crumble, and explosions throw you to the ground, the battlefield feels more alive and interactive than ever before. In Battlefield 3, players step into the role of the elite U.S. Marines where they will experience heart-pounding single player missions and competitive multiplayer actions ranging across diverse locations from around the globe including Paris, Tehran and New York.

This is the most current Battlefield 3 specification list. Most of the things listed are confirmed by DICE/EA and/or come from reputable sources. Please continue checking back as BF3Nation will update this page daily

Your “wiki” is a blog post, not an actual wiki, so uh.. don’t call it a wiki?

and keep up to date with news? Planet Battlefield and PC Gamer seems to have a good amount of stuff out before you guys do, along with the GamerSpawn vids, I was really happy with this post, but if you’re not gonna keep it updated why bother

Cool. Maybe by then I will have a new PC because I’m sure my 2008 HP won’t be able to handle it.

I particularly don’t like when developers listen to people complaining about a feature because goofball random players might abuse it. Sure, undisciplined random players might use the “drag friend to safety” feature to throw people off a building but if you’re concerned about that: DON’T PLAY WITH RANDOMS. How about joining a clan of mature adults and playing with them?

I can barely sit still reading this info, i played bf2 for years when it came out, BF2 was my first game and what turned me into a nerd :P I am not sure i can attually wait until its released :S Im just gonna have to put it to the back of my head and forget about it, because if i sit and think about it im not going to get anything doen for the next few months.

One thing which im wondering about its the map size and use of jets….It would have to be big and yet they are saying urban which means it gonna be like fighting your way through a city, i suppose with 64 players we shouldnt be walking too long without some combat :)
