Here is the weapon set for the classes in BF3,

Assault:
Expected to include an assault rifle with grenade launcher attachment. The kit is also expected to include a knife, pistol, and grenades.

Spec-Ops:
Probably a sub machine gun or variant and possible silenced. Also will include a knife, pistol, grenades, and C4 explosives.

Medic:
Expected to be a sub machine gun. Expected to carry a knife, pistol, grenades, morphine, and patches.

Engineer:
A shotgun or sub machine gun. Also carries a knife, pistol, grenades, mines, RPG, and wrench.

Sniper:
A scoped rifle. Also carries a knife, pistol, grenades, laser desegnator, and claymores.

Support:
Machine gun such as a PKMs. Also carries a knife, pistol, and grenades.

I pretty sure Gameinformer confirmed it was going to be only four classes like Bad Company 2

I don't want the assault class to be forced to have a grenade launcher as an attachment. Feels too much like BFBC2.

Give the freedom to attach what you want to any class you play imo.

NOTE: I'm only talking about attachments, like for instance having a fore grip instead of a grenade launcher and so on...

These are the starting weapons you receive and attachments,

These can be modified in the future (when you level up and unlock items),

well that must have been an old post cause Gameinformer said 4 classes...and I got this from that same site.
